PPA Tour Asia Hong Kong Open 2025 Top Ranked Long Yufei and HK Local Wong Hong Kit Vie for Gold Public Ticket Sales Start 1 August
(Hong Kong, 15 July, 2025) The global pickleball revolution is set to break new ground with the inaugural PPA Tour Asia 2025 events. Amongst the highlights of the series will be the “PPA Tour Asia Hong Kong Open 2025”, which takes place at Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park between 21-24 August, as one of the marquee events in the Asian circuit.
Organised by F-Sports Promotions Limited, and supported by the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association, the tournament promises to deliver unforgettable pickleball experiences for players of all levels by allowing amateur players to compete alongside professionals. More than 500 people registered within the first two weeks after registration launch highlighting the overwhelming enthusiasm and incredible response from the community. Tickets go on sale to the public through HK Ticketing commencing 1 August. Spectators can stand court-side for an up-close view of amateur matches, to enjoy a totally unique viewing experience.
Top Pickleball Players to Compete at Kai Tak
Kai Tak Arena will transform into a 12-court international-standard pickleball venue featuring not only some of the world’s top professionals but also 12 up-and-coming stars from the UPA Asia Trailblazers program – guaranteeing electrifying matches. PPA Tour Asia’s top-ranked woman, Chinese star Long Yufei stunned audiences at the PPA Tour Asia Panas Malaysia Open, saving two championship points to claim Gold in the women’s singles whilst also securing Silver in the women’s doubles. She will compete in the women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles in Hong Kong.
Long Yufei said, “The victory in Malaysia helped me push beyond my known limits, but I know the competition in Hong Kong will be even fiercer. However, I thrive under pressure – that feeling of fighting till the very last moment is what makes pickleball so thrilling. I will give absolutely everything and I’m hoping the Hong Kong audience will appreciate my never say die fighting spirit!”
Leading the charge for the Hong Kong home team is Wong Hong Kit, who has been in scintillating form recently. At the PPA Tour Asia Panas Malaysia Open, he claimed Bronze in the men’s singles and added another Bronze in the mixed doubles with partner Tang Nok Yiu. Last month, he dominated the PPA Tour Gold Coast Grand Slam, sweeping both the men’s singles and doubles titles in a historic achievement for Hong Kong pickleball. At the Hong Kong Open, Wong will compete in the men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
Wong Hong Kit said, “I’m incredibly excited to compete at home in such a prestigious international tournament for the first time. This event isn’t just about the competition – it’s our golden opportunity to showcase Hong Kong’s pickleball talent to the world. Ticket sales will be available with priority access through MUTIC starting 29 July, followed by general public sales via HK Ticketing from 1 August. Two pricing tiers are offered: HK$100 (HK$150 for the final day) and HK$300 (HK$400 for the final day), with all tickets being general admission (unassigned seating). HK$300/ HK$400 ticketholders will enjoy best seats for the key matches of the professional players. They will also get exclusive access to the “Courtside Viewing Zone” for amateur competitions, where they can be by the court area and experience the intense matches up close, enjoying an unparalleled live spectator experience!
